What is your background?
I recently moved to MN from Georgia. I graduated from Belhaven University in Jackson, MS, with a bachelor in Social Work.

What does your job at SLP Nest consist of?
I am the Site and Hospitality Assistant. My job consists of managing the hospitality of the space, from running the coffee shop, to deep cleaning, to running inventory, my job consists of making the space as welcoming as it can be for all of those who partake.

Why do you want to work at SLP Nest?
I have a passion for making sure that others can have a space where they can be their full selves, and I believe this can be found at the nest. I love youth and the spunky they bring to life, and every day I am at the nest is another day to learn and grow alongside those who are in the space.

What do you think the biggest challenge of working at SLP Nest will be?
I think staying relatable and making sure that the voices of the youth who are a part of it is the one that is shining through at all time. Learning to be a vessel for the dreams and plans of the teens who are a part of the nest.

Why do you think people should come to SLP Nest?
It is welcoming, cozy, and it is a place where outlet can be found for any and all individuals.

What do you hope to bring to SLP Nest?
I hope to bring a smile, joy, and fun to the nest. I hope to bring my full self.

What are you most looking forward to about your work with the Nest and why?
I am looking forward to seeing how the space begins to transform and how the incorporation of the board and the youth who are involved can create a new and meaningful place for all who enter. I am hopeful that this will be a place that prospers in many ways.
